Design Process Will Take Clients Higher and Faster in Business

Internet design and marketing may not interest  you much. All you really want is to make your business as successful as it can be. You want answers to the problems of branding, selling, managing, and communicating. Our proven strategy combined with content development and design will deliver the results you need.

Over the course of ten years in the website design industry, we have refined our development process into a well oiled machine. We are highly effective at what we do: creating magnificent websites that make our clients stand out from their competition and get results.   Our process involves five steps which center around getting to know our clients business as if it were our own. Although this article is focused primarily on website development, the principles apply to any graphic design or marketing project as well.

Listen - This is the most critical part of the process. Good communication is the foundation of a successful project. We want to learn as much as we can about your business and how you operate. Essentially we will become part of your team. It's important that we put ourselves in your shoes. Only then will we be able to truly design solutions for your unique situation. We will meet with you personally and talk about what your goals and objectives are for the website or branding project. After we are confident that we have enough information from you to understand your needs, we will do research about your industry. We will be seeking to understand what we would need if we were in your business. After thorough research and discussions with you, we will prepare a proposal customized to suit your needs.

Brainstorm - Once we have agreed on a proposal that works with your goals, we will get to work in our studio by creating mood boards, sitemaps, and brainstorming ideas for information architecture. Mood boards are similar to the paint chips and fabric samples you might use to redesign a room in your home or office. The mood boards contain thematic ideas and imagery we have pulled from photos or other inspirational sources, typography, color choices, and explanation of concepts.

Create - This step builds upon the previous one. We are really starting to breathe more life into the ideas we came up with during brainstorming. You are involved in the process every step of the way, choosing from options we show you and giving your own feedback and ideas.  Next we will create more final and detailed layout mock ups showing what  your final design will look like.  When we have worked together to produce a design that you love, we will move to the next step.

Build - Next we get to the hard work of building the website itself.  We will build the website using standards compliant CSS and XHTML. Our expertise with Photoshop and optimizing images for the internet will ensure that your website  will be responsive and fast loading. As we go through the building process, we are ever mindful of optimizing your pages for high search engine ranking as well as ease of use by website visitors. This is the step during which we need you to provide us with all the content and assets required to complete the website.

Deploy - Once the initial objectives have been reached, we will go live with the website. However, a website is never really finished. The work of adding content and articles should be ongoing. You want to keep your website updated with content which will keep people visiting your website and will also boost your search engine ranking, as search engines value websites that appear to offer valuable information to visitors. Kantner Design will help you navigate this often complicated post-launch phase by providing you with marketing suggestions and strategies. We can handle the ongoing maintenance and updates to the website as well as marketing campaigns. Detailed statistics and analysis will be available to show you how the website is performing and what areas can be focused on for improvement.
